Ottawa County Jail Roster Overview
The official Ottawa County inmate lookup is a county-hosted search page for the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office Corrections Division. Its central rule is plain: only current in-custody inmates are displayed. That makes it the best first stop for a person who may be booked at the Ottawa County Jail / Ottawa County Adult Correctional Facility, but it is not a full arrest archive and it is not a court case index.
The roster page also warns that inmate information changes quickly and may not reflect current status. It says posted details should not be relied on for legal action and that true identity can only be confirmed through fingerprint comparison. Those warnings matter because a name-based jail roster can miss recent bookings, name variations, releases, transfers, and people held under a different agency's authority. Use the jail phone, records request, court records, or state and federal locators when the roster does not answer the question.
The county roster screenshot from the manifest comes from the official Ottawa County inmate lookup and shows the current-custody form rather than a commercial search page.
That visual match is useful when confirming that the search has reached the county tool and not a third-party roster page.
Use the Ottawa County Inmate Roster
Start broad. The Ottawa County form requires the complete last name. A first name can narrow results, but adding too many filters can hide a person if a booking date, spelling, or gender value is uncertain. The page is protected by reCAPTCHA, so a saved or scraped result should not be treated as the live custody record.
- Open the official Ottawa County inmate lookup.
- Enter the person's complete last name.
- Add the first name only when a common surname returns too many possible matches.
- Use booking date fields only if the month, day, and four-digit year are known.
- Leave gender blank unless Male or Female is known and useful to narrow the result.
- Check the visible data update time and call inmate information if the timing matters.
Ottawa County Roster Search Fields
The search form gives more structure than a simple name box. It asks for last name, allows optional first name, lets a user enter a booking date in three fields, and offers gender buttons. The last-name requirement means a first-name-only search will not satisfy the form.
| Field Label | Type | Required | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Last Name | Text | Yes | Complete last name required; maximum 35 characters. |
| First Name | Text | No | Optional; use at least one character if supplied. |
| Booking Date | Three text fields | No | Month, day, and four-digit year fields accept numeric input. |
| Gender | Radio buttons | No | Male or Female; leaving blank keeps the search broader. |
| Captcha / Submit | reCAPTCHA button | Yes | Required before the public search submits. |
What Ottawa County Records Show
Full Ottawa County inmate profiles could not be sampled through static inspection because live search submission is protected. The official form and notices still define the public boundary. The roster is designed to locate current in-custody people and to provide informational results, not to certify identity, court outcome, or release eligibility.
| Field or Area | What It Shows or Means |
|---|---|
| Last Name | Required search input for a current jail lookup. |
| First Name | Optional search narrowing field. |
| Booking Date | Optional date filter for month, day, and year. |
| Gender | Optional search filter, not an aggregate demographic report. |
| Data Last Updated | Visible timestamp used to judge roster freshness. |
| VINELink | Custody-release notification path linked from the roster page. |
Find Ottawa County and State Inmates
A person can leave the Ottawa County roster without leaving custody. Sentencing, transfer, federal prosecution, immigration custody, or release can all move the search away from the county jail page. The adult jail roster covers pretrial and local jail custody. MDOC OTIS covers offenders under Michigan Department of Corrections jurisdiction or supervision, subject to OTIS limits. The BOP locator and ICE locator are separate federal tools.
| Custody | Where to Look | Best Use |
|---|---|---|
| Pretrial or local sentence | Ottawa County inmate lookup | Current adult jail custody |
| Michigan prison, parole, or probation | Michigan Department of Corrections OTIS | Sentenced or supervised offenders |
| Federal sentence | Federal Bureau of Prisons locator | Federal inmates from 1982 to present |
| Immigration detention | ICE Online Detainee Locator System | ICE custody or CBP custody over 48 hours |
Ottawa County Jail Facilities
The adult jail is the place connected to the public roster. The Juvenile Detention Center is a related local detention facility, but it is not an adult inmate records system and should not be searched through the adult roster.

Ottawa County Booking Records
Ottawa County does not publish a detailed public booking workflow, but the research supports a local sequence. After arrest or court remand, a person is processed into the Ottawa County Jail, identified, searched, screened, and classified. The jail uses classification to house people in the least restrictive secure setting possible. New inmates are generally not eligible for in-person visitation until they are placed into general housing.
Booking records can lag the arrest. The public roster is current-custody only and may not show a new booking instantly. When an online result is missing, use the update timestamp, call inmate information, and check court records if the case has already moved to arraignment or charging. Booking data, police reports, and older release records are requested through the Sheriff's Records Unit or the Ottawa County FOIA Center.

Contact an Ottawa County Inmate
Personal mail for the adult jail does not go to the jail street address. Ottawa County uses Smart Communications MailGuard, and personal mail is scanned into the system for inmate tablet access. Legal mail and court documents still go directly to the Adult Correctional Facility in West Olive. This difference is important because personal correspondence received at the facility is returned to sender.
| Contact Type | Address or Vendor | Key Rule |
|---|---|---|
| Personal mail | Ottawa County Adult Correctional Facility, Inmate Name/ID, PO Box 9155, Seminole, FL 33775-9137 | Scanned through MailGuard; print inmate name and ID clearly. |
| Legal mail | Inmate name/ID, c/o Ottawa County Adult Correctional Facility, 12130 Fillmore Street, West Olive, MI 49460 | Legal and court documents use the facility address. |
| Phone accounts | Smart Communications / SmartInmate | Prepaid Collect and PIN Debit account options. |
| Books | Approved sellers only | New soft-cover books from listed vendors may be accepted. |
Ottawa County Commissary Funds
Commissary, trust deposits, and bond payment use vendor systems. Ottawa County lists canteenservices.com, expressaccount.com, the jail lobby kiosk, and 1-866-422-6833 for several services. The kiosk accepts cash and credit for deposits and bonds, but not coins, checks, or money orders for kiosk bond payment. Credit-card deposits have transaction limits and vendor fees.
| Service | Method | Limit or Note |
|---|---|---|
| Commissary order | canteenservices.com, expressaccount.com, or phone | Visa, MasterCard, and American Express accepted by vendor. |
| Trust deposit | expressaccount.com, phone, or jail lobby kiosk | Credit card deposits limited to $200 per transaction or $300 within 14 days. |
| Bond payment | eXpress Command kiosk, online, or phone | Cash, 10 percent, and surety bond rules depend on the court order. |
| Indigent kits | Jail-provided | Available to inmates with less than $5 in trust account, with fee repaid when funds exist. |
